Baby born in car today in Dublin

Soon to be new parents got the surprise of their life when en route to the National Maternity Hospital on Holles Street for a routine check-up this morning as they welcomed the arrival of their baby.

This doesn’t seem like too crazy of a story, but it’s where the baby was born. Dublin Fire Brigade received a call and were en route, according to Journal.ie, but by the time they arrived at 8.50am – the baby girl had already been delivered.

She arrived in the parents car, on the footpath of Hatch Street. Passersby helped as the mother delivered the child herself.

They were then transported to hospital by ambulance where they are doing well.
