Cancellation of tomorrow and Friday’s Luas strike

The cancellation of tomorrow and Friday’s Luas strike is very welcome news for commuters who use the service. SIPTU representatives have now accepted an invitation to attend a meeting with Transdev at the Labour Court tomorrow.

So far the drivers have been on strike for 12 days this year, which has affected over 100,000 people relying on the Luas every day.

Fine Gael TD for Dublin Rathdown, Josepha Madigan commented on the situation:

“Dublin needs a functioning Luas system to make this city work. It is a vital part of the city infrastructure, relied on by one in ten Dubliners. The strike has caused huge disruption for 12 days. A full resolution needs to be found to this dispute soon, before commuters face further frustration and inconvenience.”
