Five Dublin designers are amongst the nominees for the Dublin Fashion Festival Young Designer of the Year Award for 2017.
The talented young designers will have the opportunity to showcase their designs a spectacular catwalk show taking place in the stunning surroundings of the Round Room, in the Mansion House, on Friday, September 22nd.
The five Dublin nominees, along with seven other finalists from across Ireland, will display their designs in front of key fashion media and influencers, including some of Ireland’s most established designers and fashion buyers, as they compete for the title of Young Designer of the Year.

Clondalkin native Danielle McGregor, who attends the National College of Art and Design, has been named as one of the finalists for the award for her creation.
Danielle will be joined at the showcase in the Mansion House later this month by Aoife Eustace Doyle from Dundrum, Blackrock’s Maria Christina McPadden, Romy Blennerhassett from Griffith College Dublin and Naomi Ajetunmobi from Fairview.
The 12 finalists were chosen by a select judging panel including renowned fashion photographer, Barry McCall; TV3 Xpose series producer, Debbie O’Donnell; Irish Independent’s fashion editor, Bairbre Power; owner of The Design Centre, Ashling Kilduff; Brown Thomas personal shopping manager, Katie McGrath; Arnotts head of personal shopping at Arnotts, Clara Halpin and Evoke.ie editor, Sybil Mulcahy.
The winner will be announced at the special Dublin Fashion Festival event in the Round Room at the Mansion House on September 22nd and along with the coveted title prize, the winner will also get the opportunity to shoot a fashion portfolio with Barry McCall.
