HSE call for Irish nurses and midwives to return home

The Health Service Executive (HSE) has encouraged nurses and midwives working abroad to return to Ireland as part of a recruitment campaign. The HSE aims to attract up to 500 staff through the recruitment drive. A relocation package of €1,500 will be offered to successful nurses and midwives.

Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation spokesperson David Hughes said, “The Irish health service badly needs nurses. We are very short of nurses now and we have been lobbying the HSE to have an international recruitment campaign to try and bring people back since the beginning of this year.”
