A massive Defence Forces training exercise will take place across Dublin today starting at 12:30pm.
In an information notice the Defence Forces advised people not to be alarmed by the heavy presence of military vehicles and personnel involved in the action.
Over 500 Defence Forces members will be involved along with members of An Garda Síochána.
In their notice, the Defence Forces said members of the public can expect to see “military vehicles, armoured vehicles, helicopters and armed personnel involved in the exercise”.
They added; “We hope to keep any disruption to a minimum; however, this exercise is necessary to ensure that the Defence Forces are fully prepared when called upon.
The training exercise, which will take place in an undisclosed area, will involve over 500 Defence Forces personnel, including the elite Army Ranger Wing, exercising with their colleagues in An Garda Síochána.
