It’s been a long evening of waiting for Tallaght native Lynn Ruane.
Finally the results are in and it’s been officially confirmed that she will take a seat in the Seanad after an impressive campaign.

The 31-year-old mother of two girls last year was elected president of the Trinity College Students Union and from there has campaigned for a seat in the Seanad and this evening that dream became a reality.
Lynn was elected on the 15th count to the third and final seat of the University of Dublin constituency with 3,344 votes. She beat her nearest opponent, Seán Barrett, by just 116 votes.
