School Transport private bus services to continue as normal during bus strike

The organisation representing private coach and bus operators in Ireland has today reassured customers that all services operated by its members under the School Transport Programme will continue as normal during the current industrial action by Bus Éireann workers.

Private operators currently deliver 89% of school transport services under contract to Bus Éireann. Under the contract agreement, payments to Contractors are made within 30 days on receipt of invoice.

The Coach Tourism and Transport Council of Ireland (CTTC), has said that although operators will not receive payments due under the scheme today, they have been assured by Bus Éireann that these payments will be made next week.

CTTC National Director Kevin Traynor stated that the organisation will monitor the situation on an ongoing basis.
