Businesses from around South Dublin County are set to flock to Croke Park in April for the 2017 Social Media Summit which features several speakers from across the capital.
This is the second year of the event which was launched in 2016 by Samantha Kelly, the Irish social media strategist, speaker and trainer.

Mari Smith, who has been named as one of the Top 5 Forbes’ Social Media Power Influencer and works for Facebook as the company’s Small Business and Facebook Marketing expert, will be the keynote speaker at the summit on April 11th and 12th.
Smith is also the author of several social media handbooks including The New Relationship Marketing and Facebook Marketing: An Hour A Day, and currently has more than half a million Twitter followers.

Kelly, who is well-known in Twitter circles as @Tweetinggoddess, explained that securing Smith as the keynote speaker is a huge coup for the Social Media Summit.
She said: “Mari Smith is considered one of the world’s foremost experts on Facebook marketing and social media. Business and marketing professionals in Ireland are very energised by the prospect of learning from her marketing methods and insights.”
The successful Facebook employee, who is also a brand ambassador for companies including Adobe, Microsoft and Animoto, is pleased to come to Dublin and speak about what she knows best – social media and marketing.
She said: “I’m excited to be part of this year’s Social Media Summit and to visit Ireland and meet some of my Irish followers. Sharing my passion and knowledge with an audience of like-minded businesspeople is empowering and strengthens the social media marketing community and its influence.”
Smith will also host a Facebook Masterclass as part of the Social Media Summit in Dublin focusing on “winning strategies to engage directly with the market”.
She explained: “I will share my proven Facebook marketing methods that I teach both SMEs and major brand clients around the world, so that Summit attendees can become highly effective social media marketers.”
John Glynn, founder and director of the the Gavin Glynn Foundation which has helped 13 children with medical treatment abroad since 4-year-old Gavin passed away in 2014, will also speak at the event.
Outset Agency director David Anderson will also speak at the event about the huge role that branding has to play in business.

There will also be talks, masterclasses and advice sessions with several other social media gurus including Kelly herself, Niall Harbison from Lovin’ Dublin, Chupi Sweetman and Jennie McGinn.
