South Dublin Libraries win ‘Best Library Service Award’


South Dublin Libraries won the ‘Best Library Service Award’ at the Chambers Ireland Awards last night. South Dublin County Library won for their service ‘Creative Campus: Supporting our second level students in South Dublin’. The awards were held at the Ballsbridge Hotel, Dublin 4 last night.

Our local library was pitted against other finalists in their category; Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council (dlr LexIcon), Fingal County Council (Battle of the Book) and Wexford County Council (Library Group Learning with MOOCs – a Wexford model).

Chambers Ireland acts as the Irish National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce. The Excellence in Local Government Awards showcase best practice in local government and highlight some of the great projects that local authorities are undertaking. The Awards are judged by a panel of expert judges working in the field of Local Government and have been taking place since 2004.
