To celebrate the fifth year of the Specsavers’ Sound Check Ireland Roadshow, Specsavers announced that they would be introducing two mobile hearing vans to travel the length and breadth of the country to raise awareness of the importance of hearing throughout the year.
These special mobile hearing vans are designed to make it even easier for people to take the first step in tackling hearing loss. Free on site hearing screenings and professional advice will be available to anyone who is concerned about their hearing.
The hearing van will be visiting The Square, Tallaght on the following days:
MONDAY, 23 MAY, 10AM TO 6PM
TUESDAY, 24 MAY, 2PM TO 6PM
WEDNESDAY, 25 MAY, 2PM TO 6PM
Director of Specsavers Tallaght James Ryan comments on the importance of regular hearing tests stating that “Untreated hearing loss can impact negatively on all areas of daily life so if you suspect that someone close to you struggles with their hearing, don’t let them suffer in silence and encourage them to seek advice”.
Untreated hearing loss can affect every aspect of life and can lead to depression and social isolation which is why early diagnosis is essential. Identifying the problem early and addressing hearing loss with an expert can mean preserving the ability to communicate with friends and family well into later life.
Regular hearing checks should be part of everyone’s healthcare routine and at Specsavers Tallaght we recommend that people over the age of 55 get a hearing test every two years.
