Have you been engrossed in a galaxy far, far away ever since Star Wars: Battlefront became available to buy, if so we have some good news about free extra content for the game.
Following the free downloadable content, the Battle of Jakku, EA have confirmed that publishers Dice will be giving more free DLC for users to enjoy. There will also be paid content made available in the coming weeks to buy or download if you have purchased the Season Pass for the game.
‘We will be adding more of what you love about the game, like new maps and Star Cards, for free in the coming months, in addition to all of the content we have coming with Season Pass’, Executive VP at EA Patrick Soderlund confirmed.
Although he confirmed no specifics about the upcoming free DLC, he did state that EA would ‘have more to share soon’, which is promising for those who have the game. The first of those free DLC’s for you to enjoy is The Battle of Jakku.
The Battle of Jakku will be made free to all users from December 8th although anyone who pre-ordered the game will be able to download it on December 1st. The Battle of Jakku DLC includes two maps Graveyard of Giants and Goazan Badlands, Graveyard is the larger of the two and is rumoured to have a fantastic visual spectacle which users should enjoy.
The DLC also includes a new mode called Turning Point, according to EA Turning Point is ‘a vast Star Wars Battlefront game mode for 40 players, included in The Battle of Jakku’. You spawn into the level as Rebels and you must then locate three different Imperial control points and then try and capture one of these points.
If you are successful with this objective additional time will be added to the mode so that you can take additional control points. As you move through the mode the ultimate objective becomes clear and that will take place at the Empires base, where you will make your final stand.
For anyone who has seen the Force Awakens Trailer you will be somewhat familiar with the Battle of Jakku as the battle scarred landscape that can be seen in the trailer is the aftermath of the battle.
As always the full game is required to play the free DLC, for more updates on Star Wars: Battlefront and all the latest game previews check back with InTallaght.
