Tallaght Actress among Nominees for 2015 Underground Cinema Awards

The Underground Cinema Awards will take place in the magnificent Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire on Saturday November 7th at 8pm.

Andie McCaffery Byrne is among the nominees in the category of Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film Solitaire. The film tackles loneliness and solitude through the perspective of a 50-something woman as she deals with the mundane nature of her life and friends. The only morsel of happiness she can conjure up is when her son comes to visit but that’s a rarity. Something needs to change for this single mother whose only son has fled the nest a long time ago.

The cast includes Sarah Jane Lynch, Gareth Higgins, Andie McCaffrey Byrne, and Rex Ryan, and the film picked up 8 nominations.
