Tallaght native Áine O’Neill has been named as Ireland’s Next Top Vlogger in a recent competition with Oasis and Xposé. The competition, called Me, Myself and Oasis, received hundreds of entrants and was narrowed down to nine finalists over six weeks.
From shooting mini vlogs and editing footage to creating flatlays, the contestants faced weekly tasks throughout the televised competition all the while trying to impress three of Ireland’s top social media mentors; YouTube guru Melanie Murphy, Snapchat queen Rosemary Mac Cabe and top blogger Rosie Connolly.
The nine were again reduced down to two; Áine and fellow vlogger Linda Ryan, who were flown to London to vlog exclusively for Oasis. After much deliberation Aine was announced as Ireland’s next social superstar.
As the competition winner, Áine, aged 28, a student at Carlow College, will get the chance to return to London and spend time with the Oasis digital team, who will be on hand to help with all the branding and digital dilemmas of creating a vlog.
Canon Ireland sponsored the winning prize, the ultimate vlogging starter kit, to include a DSLR 750D, Legria Mini X, and a Powershot compact camera complete with training course to ensure Áine continues on her social journey with the best equipment in the business. Oasis has also provided a brand new laptop and printer for all her vlogging needs.
Áine will be working with many new companies as a result of her success including Sleek, Wet N Wild, The Aviva, Citywest Hotel, Physcians Formula and more. Below is a blog she worked on for Fáilte Ireland.
