As part of the National Patient Experience survey roadshow Tallaght Hospital recently hosted a visit from Phelim Quinn, CEO of HIQA.
Mr. Quinn visited a number of areas around the Hospital to thank the staff that are working on the project and encouraging all patients aged over 18 who stay in the Hospital overnight during the month of May.
The surveys are issued by post approximately 10 days after discharge.
Tallaght Hospital is one of 40 hospitals participating in the national survey and hope that patients will share their feedback during the survey process.
The first ever National Patient Experience Survey was launched on the 5th of April 2017 at the Mater Misericordiae Hospital.
The National Patient Experience Survey is part of a broader programme to help improve the quality and safety of healthcare services provided to patients in Ireland.
The survey tries to understand how patients interact with the healthcare system and how they experience this process.
A major advantage of a national survey is that it allows us to measure patient feedback in a rigorous and systematic way.
The results of the survey will provide a rich source of information to help improve hospital care in Ireland.
The hospitals participating in the National Patient Experience Survey will use the results to develop quality improvement plans, which will outline how patients’ priorities will be addressed in the future.
Quality improvement plans will be available on this website.
