With the Bank Holiday approaching Tallaght Hospital say they must keep visiting hours to a minimum due to a number of patients being identified as carriers of the CRE bug.
While these carriers, who do not have any evidence of infection, and are not experiencing any ill health effects, they are being cared for in line with strict national guidelines.
As such, restricted visiting to Adult areas in Tallaght Hospital remain in place as part of the ongoing infection prevention and control measures.
This excludes the Children’s wards, which are unaffected.
Those with outpatient appointments should continue to attend the Hospital for their appointments.
Patients with non-urgent requirements are urged to seek advice from their local GP before presenting to Tallaght Hospital Emergency Department.
For the benefit of all patients, visitors in general are reminded:
– Adherence to Adult Hospital visiting hours are from 2pm-4pm and 6.30pm – 8.30pm
– If you are suffering from diarrhoea and / or vomiting, or flu like symptoms then please do not visit
– Children are not allowed to visit the adult area of the hospital
These restrictions are introduced in the best interests of the patients and the continued understanding and co-operation of the public is greatly appreciated at this time.
