Just a reminder there is just two weeks to go in the nomination period for the 34th Tallaght Person of the Year Awards. Nominations are made online (www.tallaghtpersonawards.ie) and close on Monday the 23rd of October.
There are seven categories in the awards which cover all walks of life and activities in our community, you are bound to know someone who deserves to be honoured in at least one category, if not all of them
The broad rules are, your nominees must live or work / volunteer in Tallaght to be eligible and previous category winners cannot win the same category in consecutive years.
To get a reminder of the categories & examples of who is eligible for nomination in each category – here is a short, helpful summary,
The Tallaght Person of the Year Awards are an easy way to recognise someone who makes a huge difference in your family, your community and the lives of others.
Many community heroes are silent, humble giants – unsung heroes who don’t seek any public reward. This is your way to make sure they receive community recognition this year.
Every nominee gets a certificate of recognition and is honoured at our awards ceremony on the roll of honour.
Nominations close on Monday, the 23rd of October. Don’t assume someone else will nominate your unsung hero and remember, the independent judges will only have the information  you submit online to help them  adjudicate this years awards.
Tickets are on sales for the award ceremony on Friday, the 17th of November in The Red Cow.
The awards celebrate the best of Tallaght – this years special guest is GAA legend Denis Bastick and live entertainment is by the talented Level Heads – all Tallaght natives.
Tickets are available from TCC Box Office or The Echo office on Main Road.
