Tymon North nursing home gets go ahead

South Dublin County Council has granted planning permission to develop a 100-bed nursing home in a field in Tymon North. The decision was made despite objections from local residents and councillors such as loss of property value in the area and the impact of the development. The nursing home will comprise of en-suite bedrooms, day rooms, dining rooms, activity and therapy rooms, staff support rooms, a central kitchen, and a new vehicular and pedestrian site entrance off Tymon North Road, perimeter fencing and a car park. The 8,000sq.m. site was bought by the HSE for €650,000 in late 2014 from South Dublin County Council.
