Clondalkin actor Aidan Turner nominated for National Television Award

Actor and local man Aidan Turner has been nominated for a UK National Television Award for his role in BBC drama Poldarch. The Clondalkin actor is up against David Tennant in Broadchurch, Sheridan Smith in Black Work and Suranne Jones in Doctor Foster for Best Drama Performance.

Poldark is also nominated in the Best New Drama category against Doctor Foster, Ordinary Lies and Humans. The awards take place on January 20th and will be hosted by Dermot O’Leary live on ITV. Voting is open here.

Aidan is also well-known for his role as dwarf Kili in The Hobbit movies. It’s been rumoured that he once worked in The Square cinema, so maybe he’ll drop back in some day!
