No arrests have been made after a stolen car sped through several Tallaght estates and failed to stop for Gardaí on Thursday night.
According to Gardaí the vehicle was the subject of an “unauthorised taking” from Cloonmore Estate earlier on Thursday evening before being driven dangerously, at high speed through Killinarden and down the Tallaght bypass.
A Garda spokesman told InTallaght that the pursuit occurred after officers on duty observed the car driving erratically. He said: “The car failed to stop for Gardaí and was observed being driven in a dangerous manner before being located, abandoned.”
When Gardaí located the car at Killinarden Estate at approximately 11.30pm the driver had escaped and no arrests have yet been made.
Despite the speed and intensity of the chase, parts of which was recorded by members of the public, no injuries have been reported.
